LOCATION: Port of Spain

TYPE: Part-time, Permanent




POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Real Estate Operations, the Lotto Operator will be responsible for providing the highest level of customer service in addition to contributing to the efficient operations of the Lotto Booth by processing all purchases including but not limited to lotto games, scratch cards, phone cards, bill payments, event tickets and ecommerce purchases.


 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales:

  • Actively engage with customers by asking them relevant questions in order to identify their needs and match these with Lotto products.
  • Respond to customers’ questions about games and services and provide advice to aid them in making their purchases.
  • Suggest alternatives and substitutions in cases where the specific requested product is not available.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency so that the customers’ choices can be made quickly, and the sales transaction completed promptly.

 

Customer Service:

  • Provide an exceptional level of customer service to all customers, ensuring all customers are acknowledged and greeted.
  • Maintain a friendly attitude and a professional phone manner.
  • Understand and satisfy the needs of our customers by establishing professional, yet personalized rapport with each customer to close purchases and provide the best customer experience.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of product knowledge to be able to recommend suggestions for customer selection based on the understanding of Customer’s needs.
  • Handle customer complaints promptly, with tact and diplomacy providing solutions to Customers.

 

Specific Cashier Duties:

  • Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the “NLCB Manual”.
  • Account for all monies received in connection with cashing on the NLCB Terminal.
  • Accurately complete all end of day balancing at the NLCB Terminal.
  • Ensure that customers complete a NLCB slip for all game purchases.
  • Discourage loitering at the Lotto Booth.
  • Maintain knowledge of the NLCB Terminal and up to date on any changes with the system.
  • Ensure that the Lotto Booth is adequately stocked with lotto tickets, games, scratch cards, register rolls etc.

 

Product Knowledge:

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all NLCB products.
  • Ensure that signage is related to products displayed.
  • Be up-to-date with current specials and NLCB promotions.

 

Organizational Ability:

  • Ensure that the lotto booth is always clean and secure of any other item that may cause harm or injury to Customers, fellow workers.
  • Be aware of the all security procedures relating to working in the Lotto Booth.
  • Ensure no wastage or abuse of packaging supplies, stationery, or other material.
  • Take initiative to suggest and implement solutions to improve efficiency.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Five (5) CXC O’ Level passes including Math and English.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the retail, customer service and/or sales field.
  • Proven experience with working with numbers.
  • Proficient with NLCB Terminal/Point of Sale systems.

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours inclusive of weekends and public holidays.
